Hello! I’m Berline, a psychotherapist, neuroscientist, and educator here to walk alongside you through life’s transitions, challenges, and healing.

As a first-generation immigrant, woman of colour, and military spouse, I know what it means to navigate multiple identities while adapting to new environments. My own path has been shaped by displacement, intergenerational wounds, and the quiet courage it takes to rebuild in new and unfamiliar places. Those experiences—combined with my background in academic research and family support work—led me to create Luminary Hope Counselling & Wellness Services, offering culturally sensitive care that bridges the gap between Western psychotherapy and the unique needs of immigrants and racialized communities.

My approach is warm, grounded, and relational. Rooted in psychodynamic principles, I explore how early life, culture, and community shape your identity and relationships. I believe healing is both personal and collective—and that you are more than a diagnosis. You are a whole person; your heritage, values, and spiritual beliefs are strengths, not barriers, and they deserve to be honored in the healing process.
